Legends we are always looking forward forgetting what is behind (especially some of you near the bottom of the leaderboard...ha). No seriously I am starting to plan the lineup for the 2016 League of Legends Season. This will be our first full season of Legends. This is to denote that these leagues will actually start in 2015. I am scoring these on a weekly basis so it won't really matter if they carry over. We have 20 legends heading into Football Season. Perfect. We can now have 2 - 10 team leagues. I am thinking I will randomly assign the 20 teams into 2 leagues. I will then need a legend from the league I am not in to sever as commissioner of that league. More details on that to come soon. We also talked about leveling points heading into to football season since we've had several late addition Legends. I will level points probably after the July Streak contest as we head into August.

The Streak  - we are a few days from wrapping up the streak. A few legends have asked me about scoring. Top Streaker (best win pct) gets full 2000 points. Remaining streakers get pct of points based on the following formula 2000 - ((Top Win Pct - Your Win Pct) * 2000). Most streaks get 200 point kicker with other legends getting pct of 200 points based on their top streak count. Finally you get a kicker for wins...Most wins 300 pts, Second most 200 pts, Third most 100 pts. Wimbledon Tennis Slam  - The draw is at 4:00AM Friday morning. I will try to have the picks up and ready before I head into work Friday. Tour de France  - that is right legends. We are picking the Tour de France. You will assign 4 riders to the various jersey colors of the Tour de France. the top 20 riders of each stage will receive points. There was a disturbance in the League of Legends force, and I quickly answered the call. I had a feeling that Legends were clamoring for another race League of Legends game. Introducing Who UR F1 DRVR, a spin off of America's favorite NASCAR driver pickem game Who Ur DRVR. The F1 series has 20 drivers that have been organized into 4 tiers. Much like the NASCAR pickem, legends will select a driver from each tier. F1 drivers receive points based on peformance in each race. These points are multiplied by 4 to make the season worth approx 2500 points. We will play a partial season during the 2015 LOL season with the full season being released during the 2016 LOL. Legends I was out mowing Friday and like any normal Legend was thinking of a new contest for the league. A few months back....(just checked it was September 2014, time has flown) I created a site called ClosingBell. It was apart of the League of Legends version 2.0 (technically we are playing on LOL v 3.0). Anyway ClosingBell was a stock pickem game where you picked the price of 5 stocks daily and you pick a closing day price. If you were within +- a certain percentage of the price you set than you got points for that pick. It was a daily thing, and a little complicated. Anyway, while mowing I was thinking there should be an easier way to make a stock pickem game for the legends. Thus the idea for Bulls and Bears was born. Here is the rough idea: Before the Monday opening bell Legends will pick 2 stocks.  Bull Stock - legends will pick a stock they think will rise this week Bear Stock - legends will pick a stock they think will fall this week Friday close prices are recorded

While watching MLB.TV last night I saw a good idea for a possible BarrelFire matchup. Viewers could vote on the Marquee matchup of the night. Basically they take a starting pitcher, select a batter from the opposing team lineup and determine what is the best Pitcher vs Batter Matchup of the night. Last night they featured the Strasburg v. Stanton matchup as the Nationals faced off against the Marlins. I started thinking how to score this to determine who would win. The first approach would be to come up with a scoring system assigning various values to matchup outcomes like H, Strikeout, Walk, K, etc. Quickly I realized that would be a lot of work for just a BarrelFire. Then it hit me. Someone has done all the legwork for me. I went over to http://www.fangraphs.com  and looked at the box score. They have a metric called WPA which stands for Win Probability Added. Man what a sports weekend. What a League of Legends weekend. We had several different events this week in the League of Legends. Sonderman rose above the rest to take the lead with a Trifecta on the Kentucky Derby yielding him 1,400 points. Check out this list of League of Legends Picks from last week. A few years ago I had an idea for a 5 game pickem called Iron Clad 5. I created the website but got bored with the idea. Now of course we have a year long LEAGUE OF LEGENDS where Iron Clad 5 makes perfect sense. So without futher ado I re-introduce the IronClad 5 a second time. Each week legends will pick 5 hand-selected NFL games. I am still trying to decide if this will be a straight pickem or if legends will pick against the spread. If I can find an easy source to parse that has the spread odds information then we will go that route. If not it will be a straight pickem.

Legends, I just had an idea for a new NFL Pickem. Each week I will select 5 NFL games. Legends will then select the winner of the 5 games. We may even play the spread. So you pick a team to cover the spread, etc. I am thinking scoring will be 20 points per game for a maximum of 100 points per week, 1700 possible total points. Thoughts? Maybe kick it up a notch and make games worth 50 each for a total of 4,250. Maybe that is too much...?

Yahoo Fantasy MLS League is garbage. jcomp found MLSsoccer.com has a fantasy league as well. At first glance it is mile ahead of Yahoo. We are trying out the league this weekend with plans to probably move the league to MLSSoccer.com. If you want to try it out this weekend give it a go. Anyone think the Mayweather v. Pacquiao fight is worth too many points. Right now as it stands we are looking at 1000 points total. Perhaps that is too high for a single pick, but this is a pretty big fight in the boxing world. We are looking at 700 points to pick the winner and 300 points for the victory type. I am willing to tweak that should enough legends think that was too high for the fight.

If anyone finds a cool scoreboard out there on a web site let me know. I'd like to redesign the League of Legends main scoreboard as well as the scoreboard for each LOL game. Right now the game scoreboards are extremely basic and kinda boring.

NBA Playoffs are starting this weekend. The playoff picture will be set after the games this evening. I will have the matchups updated and ready for picks tomorrow. Be sure to get your picks in before Saturday's cutoff. Scoring System NBA Playoffs will be scored as follows: Points are awarded for each correct series winner pick. Round 1: 50 Points Round 2: 100 Points Round 3: 200 Points Round 4: 300 Points Round 4 is the Championship game. If you have an awful round 1 you can still score points in the later rounds. You can participate in whatever round you wish to participate in.
