Rundown 4/10/2017

Horstman Master's Dominance, Tower continues his Yahoo league excellence, Baseball week 1 wrapup, that and more in this week's rundown.

The Masters

One could argue Horstman wasn't even paying attention to Season 3 League Of Legends. He shut all that noise down with a convincing Masters Championship foursome netting him 1000 fake internet points and 5 minutes of League of Legend fame. The winning foursome of Hideki Matsuyama, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, and Justin Rose pulled away from the rest of the field. Horstman scored a 100 point bonus for picking Rose who finished 2nd in the tournament.

NHL Champion

The only legend who showed up for the NHL draft completes his wire to wire run as NHL leader and champion. Tower basks in the glory of another league championship under his belt. Gras' team started hot in day one of the championship matchup netting 19.20 points (not even sure my team ever scored that many points in one day). Gras continued to build a lead heading into Thursday when Tower's team explodes for 33 points. Both teams scored well Saturday heading into a Sunday showdown. Tower pulled away on the final day to score the victory and complete his wire to wire 1st place and championship run.

Baseball Week 1

The temperature is getting warmer, the beers are on ice, the smell of Hebrew National Hot Dogs on the grill is filling the air. That's right legends, baseball is back. The long haul of the 24 week baseball season has begun and several legends' teams did not get the message.

Of all the talk of how terrible WarningTrackPower started the season, his team didn't even finish with the lowest points. The first week is in the books and its too early to call how the season will shape up, however we will not let this stop us from making fun of several of you.

HOT STOVE

The STOVE was blazing folks. So hot WarningTrackPower ran out of moves by Friday and couldn't even start pick up a SS to start for Ziggy Bogarts (Dr. Brule pronunciation). 77 TOTAL moves. HOT HOT STOVE.

  • WarningTrackPower Swoops and and Snags Franciso Liriano for the 4/7 start. Full meltdown mode starts in the first inning. Liriano goes .1 IP with 5ER and 4 Walks. That's an ERA of 135.00 for those Math Wiz Legends out there. Bet you can guess at least one person getting on the Triple A Bus this week.
  • Underhochavers Snags Mark Reynolds who had quiet the week 1 don't cut yourself on these slashes .346/.393/.808. 2016 Mark had more Ks than Hits so we'll see if he can sustain.
  • Underhochavers making two appearances this week on Hot Stove with his Blake Treinen pick up on 3/30. 6th best RP right now with 30.83 points racking up 3 saves in the first week.

Get on the Bus to Triple A

  • WarningTrackPower's entire starting line up (looking at your Kris Bryant)
  • The Aforementioned Franciso Liriano .1 IP 5ER 4 Walks outing. Crowded Bus this week
  • Here's My Donation Sam Dyson (RP) -9.17 points on 4/5...ouch. Dyson spent some time visualizing what went wrong in the dugout....
  • PattyV - Stephen Piscotty - perhaps instead of Triple A ol Biscotti should head to the hospital after getting hit with the baseball 3 times in the same inning. Unfortunately for PattyV Piscotty has been hit with the ball more times than he has actually hit the ball.
  • Lime in the Coconut - Byron Buxton, 2/26 with 14Ks. And thus we start the Buxton Carasoel to see how many legend teams will he end up starting for this year. Can he beat last year's record of 6 teams? Only time will tell.

Yasiel Puig HEAT CHECK

We check in on Puig from time to time. Ol Puig had 3 Massive Dingers this week and is off to a BLAZING start including 1 for 2 on stolen bases attempts. Don't listen to the haters Puig, you and Harper need to MBGA (make baseball great again).

Comments

  1. S/o to tjs for including a paragraph I didn't read on Fantasy Hockey. Gave me one more opportunity to ignore the NHL this season. Thanks, Joe.

Rundown 6/12/2017 - Jcomp edition

It was a big week across the athletic landscape as several sports and collegiate softball crowned champions. Nadal finished an all-time great run through the French Open, the Penguins won the Stanley Cup, and Lebron ended talk of the Warriors and an undefeated postseason. Meanwhile, Patty took the LOL season lead for all of 36 hours until TJS could finish his 100 hour work week and get back to his computer to “adjust” the scoring. We’re 12 days into the second streak month of the LOL year. I feel a bit like Bob Gibson probably felt in 69 after the whiners got their way and the rules were changed. Luckily enough we’re entering prime Cricket season which, outside of Russian Basketball, is my sweetspot. You guys better get ready for a load of Chris Gayle Hot Takes. Triple Frown We’ve seen six different horses win the six triple crown races since American Pharoah in 2015. While being a borderline sports degenerate is a necessity in the League of Legends, do any of us really care abou...

RunDown 9/5/2017: Almost 3 whole months

Legends its been almost 3 whole months since the last League Of Legends post. Teams are settling in, thejoestory has taken his spot right near the top of the overall standings, Tower has been going on and on about how he wins the leagues, and EvulMonkey has made his annual week 1 NFL lineup change followed by 14 weeks of nothingness. That's right legends fall is around the corner, CFB has kicked off and NFL starts this week. Football season is back. Let's dive into the rundown. Baseball Baseball Playoffs have started leaving some legends to ask...we are playing baseball. Yes legends indeed we are quickly winding down another season of Baseball. Eight teams of champions have made it thus far and are battling for the coveted Baseball league bonus modifiers. If you ask Tower the bonus points are in the bag. TJS Prediction : Hits for K's vs Lime in the Coconut championship showdown for all the points. Hits for K's has defeated the Coconuts twice this season and sho...
