Bulls and Bears

Legends I was out mowing Friday and like any normal Legend was thinking of a new contest for the league. A few months back....(just checked it was September 2014, time has flown) I created a site called ClosingBell. It was apart of the League of Legends version 2.0 (technically we are playing on LOL v 3.0). Anyway ClosingBell was a stock pickem game where you picked the price of 5 stocks daily and you pick a closing day price. If you were within +- a certain percentage of the price you set than you got points for that pick.

It was a daily thing, and a little complicated. Anyway, while mowing I was thinking there should be an easier way to make a stock pickem game for the legends. Thus the idea for Bulls and Bears was born. Here is the rough idea:


  • Before the Monday opening bell Legends will pick 2 stocks. 
    • Bull Stock - legends will pick a stock they think will rise this week
    • Bear Stock - legends will pick a stock they think will fall this week
  • Friday close prices are recorded and points are awarded
  • 75 points for each correct pick for a max weekly score of 150 points
  • Legends will be notified when the week is a Bulls and Bears week
  • Frequency TBD but it will not be every week...maybe earnings weeks and such

Some things to work out. Do we go all markets or just stick to NASDAQ? I say we stick to single stocks and no funds. 



Before I went to work coding this site I wanted to gauge interest. I know it is not really a sports thing so I understand if most legends are not interested. However if we have a few legends interested then I will code it up and we can take it for a test spin.

Rundown 6/12/2017 - Jcomp edition

It was a big week across the athletic landscape as several sports and collegiate softball crowned champions. Nadal finished an all-time great run through the French Open, the Penguins won the Stanley Cup, and Lebron ended talk of the Warriors and an undefeated postseason. Meanwhile, Patty took the LOL season lead for all of 36 hours until TJS could finish his 100 hour work week and get back to his computer to “adjust” the scoring. The Baseball HOT STOVE IS ON FIRE, a new legend emerges, and much more on this weeks' RunDown.
