Legend News 6/25/2015


  • The Streak - we are a few days from wrapping up the streak. A few legends have asked me about scoring. Top Streaker (best win pct) gets full 2000 points. Remaining streakers get pct of points based on the following formula 2000 - ((Top Win Pct - Your Win Pct) * 2000). Most streaks get 200 point kicker with other legends getting pct of 200 points based on their top streak count. Finally you get a kicker for wins...Most wins 300 pts, Second most 200 pts, Third most 100 pts.
  • Wimbledon Tennis Slam - The draw is at 4:00AM Friday morning. I will try to have the picks up and ready before I head into work Friday.
  • Tour de France - that is right legends. We are picking the Tour de France. You will assign 4 riders to the various jersey colors of the Tour de France. the top 20 riders of each stage will receive points. If your pick wins the overall jersey color then you will get a bonus kicker at the end of the race. Rider list should be set first of next week and Emails will be sent when the picks are open.
  • Golf pickem scoring update - We had some legends pick one player instead of foursome. I treated that as an across the board pick much like the Triple crown stuff. Going forward if you do not pick 4 golfers then you get the worse score of the round. So if you pick 1 golfer you get the worse score * 3 and so on. If you have trouble picking holler and let me know what the issue is.
  • July Streak Month - July will be another streak month since it is a little quiet. I was kicking around the idea of a reverse streak. So you have to pick as many losers as possible. No Forfeits. Anyone interested in that or should we just stick with normal streak. If I do not hear back we will go normal streak
  • College Football update: So this is still a ways off but I am creating the College football Pickem site. Each week legends will pick all the games involving a top 25 team. The picks will be against the spread. The spread will be locked in 1 hour before kickoff. So if you make your picks on Monday the spread can change often throughout the week. The spread will be locked in 1 hour before kickoff and that will be what you are picking against.
  • Point leveling and New Legends - Most Legends agreed that leveling the points was a good idea. We need 3 new legends before Football Season. If you know someone that is legend material please let me know. I would like to get 3 new legends added and then level the points before Football season.

IRONCLAD 5

A few years ago I had an idea for a 5 game pickem called Iron Clad 5. I created the website but got bored with the idea. Now of course we have a year long LEAGUE OF LEGENDS where Iron Clad 5 makes perfect sense. So without futher ado I re-introduce the IronClad 5 a second time. Each week legends will pick 5 hand-selected NFL games. I am still trying to decide if this will be a straight pickem or if legends will pick against the spread. If I can find an easy source to parse that has the spread odds information then we will go that route. If not it will be a straight pickem.

The Baseball HOT STOVE IS ON FIRE, a new legend emerges, and much more on this weeks' RunDown. New Legend We had a new legend emerge on the scene this week, giving League of Legends a test spin, checking out what it's all about. Everyone extend a warm legend welcome to Josh Dorr, AKA Dorrknob.
