Rundown 3/27/2017

The fires are out, the dust has settled, the League of Legends Baseball draft is complete. Chiefs617 shows us how to almost be a basketball champion in 7 weeks, Final few days of streak, and more in this edition of the Run Down.

Almost Champion

Chiefs617 has had an impressive 7 week stretch in NBA. Ownership changed hands Feb 1st as Sonderman evacuated his post as legend prior to Season 3 starting. From that moment on Josh's Mediocre Team buzz sawed through the competition with an impressive 6 game winning streak including wins against the top 3 teams.

His luck ran out this week in the playoffs against Quebec Kids setting the stage for an epic showdown between Tower of Power and Quebec Kids for NBA league champion. The season series is split 1-1 so it should be an epic match up.

March Madness Dumpster Fire

We have a whole pile of dumpster fire legend brackets. Who will rise above the ashes to take first place? If UNC wins then thejoestory and PattyV will own the top 2 spots. If Gonzaga wins Lex Luther will go from Legend Laughing stock with zero points to possibly cracking the top 10.

Hey Karnowski when you lose thejoestory is going to win the bracket challenge:

Baseball Draft

As predicted HvuSnMyBball selected Trout number 1 in the draft. No huge surprises in the first few rounds of the draft. However about midway through Kranhold kept picking the exact player thejoestory was targeting, leading to an investigation to determine if Kranhold was hacking yahoo queues of other legends.

"I don't know what other evidence you need," commented thejoestory in post draft interview "the guy selected 5 of my upcoming picks in a row. It's unheard of. I mean we all know the Cardinals will hack opponents and cheat, its the Cardinal way, but was surprised Hits For Ks would stoop to that kind of low to win." When asked for a comment on the hacking allegation Kranhold replied "Yeah yeah" prompting the investigation.

Subsequent investigations cleared Kranhold of any wrong doing and thejoestory issued an apology. "I guess it just shows champions pick the same players." replied thejoestory (Back to Back to Back MLB champion). "The pressure to win is high this year, we are all gunning for last year's champion Kranhold. However we shouldn't have started this hacking witch hunt. I apologize to the Hits For Ks organization and ready to put it behind us to start the season."

Streak For Cash

Streak points will be handed out later this week as the March Streak for cash competition comes to a close. Jcomp is in the lead by a wide margin with thejoestory in second and gras currently in third. Kranhold holds a small lead for the win bonus and thejoestoy currently holds the longest streak bonus.

TWILOLB

It's time for our first installment (possibly only) of TWILOLB (This week in LOL Baseball). We find ourselves already 7 weeks into the season, quarter of the way through. Where has the time gone? Epic Showdown of the Week Warning Track Power vs. Stump Grinder's A showdown of epic proportions. 2004 Red Sox vs Yankees. 1997 Florida Marlins vs Cleveland Indians. You get the gist. Stump Grinder's, after a slow week 1, the hottest team in the league with the highest total points. WarningTrackPower searching for his 4th league title in a row off to an undefeated start. Heading into Sunday WTP was down by 71 and needed a miracle. That miracle's name was Gerrit " The Cubs are Not that Good " Cole with a game hotter than this week's Cubs take. WTP had 4 starters combine for 70.33 points and a Kimbrel 2K save to power past SG on the final day of the matchup. WTP totaled 110.08 points on Sunday to grasp the victory from SGs curiously strong clutches. ...

COUSIN VINNY’S LEAGUE OF LEGENDS WEEK 1 PICKS

COUSIN VINNY’S LEAGUE OF LEGENDS WEEK 1 PICKS Stump Grinder’s @ Warning Track Power The Grinder’s are led by an All Star cast of outfielders and should live up to their name with a bunch of gritty ball players. Warning Track Power is banking on MLB juicing the ball even more so it flies all the way out of the park. They will lean on their mashers. On the bump the Grinder’s roll out a strong collection of power arms. WTP is led by Thor acquired from the Grinder’s in the offseason and are hoping their strong bullpen will help once Greinke's arm finally falls off. Cousin Vinny says: Stump Grinder’s (-3) Prediction: Grinder’s 8 WTP 4 Expos @ UnderHochevars Will this be the year Trevor Story finally breaks out because if he does he will pair nicely with Bregman on that side of the infield. Hosmer and LeMahieu on the other side will balance out all of the K’s those two may rack up. UH trots out a collection of proven consistent bats hoping guys like Santana, Bruce, and ...
