Rundown 5/1/2017

Welcome legends to the RunDown May Day 2017 Edition. Commish goes on a boat, First Leg of the Triple Crown, and more in this week's edition of the Run Down

Triple Crown

We kick off the first leg of the Triple Crown showdown. Early odds are posted on the site. Go pick your horses and get ready for the most exciting 2 minutes of the first weekend in May (assuming your life is pretty boring the first weekend in May). http://www.thejoestory.com/lol/triplecrown

Cruisin

I am back on dry ground legends. If vacation taught us anything it taught us that I should just leave my baseball team alone. Let my team cruise (get it...yuck yuck) into first place dominance and just stop making moves. Took the family on our first cruise last week. First night of the cruise had me sicker than Noah Syndergaard owners today. Never spewed but first night had me thinking never cruise again. By day 2 it was a lot better and we had a great trip.

Enough of that already how about some baseball.

Hot Stove Moves of the Week

Taking a week off the hot stove. I am working on a tool to grab all the transactions and display them more easier. Check back next week.

Get on the Bus to Triple A (past 7 days)

  • Jason Kipnis - Matt's Team, 4/24 joins the 10K club
  • Willson Contreras - HvuSnMyBall, 3/16 and 2 points
  • Ryon Healy - Josh's Team, 4/26, 3.75 points almost joins the 10K club coming up 1K short.
  • Fernando Rodney - Underhochevars, -2.33 points with 8ER and 2BSVs...yikes
F-rod sees how high his ERA is on the scoreboard
  • Noah "No MRI for me bro" Syndegaard - Stump Grinder's, 5ER in 1.1 IP and a long trip to the DL. Thor got hammered.
Does it look like I need an MRI bro?

Puig Heat check

Time to check in on Puig. Our hero is 5/23 with a dong, 4 singles, 2 walks (plate discipline), and 7Ks (all bad called 3rd strikes) for 11.25 points. He even got to watch the epic back to back to back bottom of the ninth comeback from the dugout. #winning

Rundown 4/10/2017

Horstman Master's Dominance, Tower continues his Yahoo league excellence, Baseball week 1 wrapup, that and more in this week's rundown. The Masters One could argue Horstman wasn't even paying attention to Season 3 League Of Legends. He shut all that noise down with a convincing Masters Championship foursome netting him 1000 fake internet points and 5 minutes of League of Legend fame. The winning foursome of Hideki Matsuyama, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, and Justin Rose pulled away from the rest of the field. Horstman scored a 100 point bonus for picking Rose who finished 2nd in the tournament. NHL Champion The only legend who showed up for the NHL draft completes his wire to wire run as NHL leader and champion. Tower basks in the glory of another league championship under his belt. Gras' team started hot in day one of the championship matchup netting 19.20 points (not even sure my team ever scored that many points in one day). Gras continued to build a lead headi...

Rundown 3/27/2017

The fires are out, the dust has settled, the League of Legends Baseball draft is complete. Chiefs617 shows us how to almost be a basketball champion in 7 weeks, Final few days of streak, and more in this edition of the Run Down. Almost Champion Chiefs617 has had an impressive 7 week stretch in NBA. Ownership changed hands Feb 1st as Sonderman evacuated his post as legend prior to Season 3 starting. From that moment on Josh's Mediocre Team buzz sawed through the competition with an impressive 6 game winning streak including wins against the top 3 teams. His luck ran out this week in the playoffs against Quebec Kids setting the stage for an epic showdown between Tower of Power and Quebec Kids for NBA league champion. The season series is split 1-1 so it should be an epic match up. March Madness Dumpster Fire We have a whole pile of dumpster fire legend brackets. Who will rise above the ashes to take first place? If UNC wins then thejoestory and PattyV will own the top 2 s...

Rundown 6/12/2017 - Jcomp edition

It was a big week across the athletic landscape as several sports and collegiate softball crowned champions. Nadal finished an all-time great run through the French Open, the Penguins won the Stanley Cup, and Lebron ended talk of the Warriors and an undefeated postseason. Meanwhile, Patty took the LOL season lead for all of 36 hours until TJS could finish his 100 hour work week and get back to his computer to “adjust” the scoring. We’re 12 days into the second streak month of the LOL year. I feel a bit like Bob Gibson probably felt in 69 after the whiners got their way and the rules were changed. Luckily enough we’re entering prime Cricket season which, outside of Russian Basketball, is my sweetspot. You guys better get ready for a load of Chris Gayle Hot Takes. Triple Frown We’ve seen six different horses win the six triple crown races since American Pharoah in 2015. While being a borderline sports degenerate is a necessity in the League of Legends, do any of us really care abou...
