Rundown 5/9/2017

Baseball, the horses, "Playoffs Playoffs" and much more. Like LOL's favorite rapper says "Better late than never, but never late is better", here is this week's edition of the RunDown.

Tower literally tried to kill me yesterday suggesting a 16 mile bike ride, in a seemingly obvious move to take me out before winning back to back to back LOL championships. Didn't work legends, like we say here in LOL you can't coach grit. I am gritting out this blog post with tender loins and tired legs.

Horses

Would have had about the same luck picking Papanick in the Derby this weekend. His father was a mudder, his mudder was a mudder. Sloppy course and a wide open field hampered the legends picks this weekend. The only successful legend on the Derby pickem was Gras who went with American Dream to win it all netting him 500 points.
Right pocket holds some clues to Gras' success

Playoffs, Playoffs

Not sure why we are delaying the inevitable Cavs/Warriors finals rematch. Latest Legend add Dorrknob picked the Raptors to win. I think we'll chalk it up to him learning how to use the hot takes website still getting used to clicking and such. That or knowing my code it could have been a bug in the code.

NHL playoffs will feature 2 Game 7s Wednesday night. Hard to beat playoff Game 7 hockey.

Baseball

The HOT STOVE Tool is still in development. Yahoo does some crazy stuff with their JSON transaction feed so I'm weeding through that as quickly as I can. If any legends want to learn Python let me know and I will help you get ramped up so you an help me.

I'd say the early contender for bone head drop of the year would be yours truly dropping Aaron Judge. Just hoping pitchers stop piping fastballs and through him some junk soon.

On the Bus to Triple A

  • Ryan Braun - PhilliesPhanInKC, Having a week -0.25 points and a drip to the Day-to-Day status. More like Day-to-Not Going to Play today
  • Carlos Gonzales - Lime in the Coconut. Scoring .75 points 1/16 with 5Ks
  • Fancisco Rodriguez - RP StumpGrinders - FRod has owners shouting f-bombs this week. -4.00 points on 2.0 IP, 2L, 5ER, and 2BSVs...ouch
  • Brandon Kintzler RP - WarningTrackPower - "At least he is not in the negative points" Brandon sporting a 0.00 points with 2IP, 3ER, and 1BSV under his belt.
America's Hero

Time for our weekly check in with America Hero Outfielder. Yasiel Puig is scorching hot with 22 points on 8/22, 7 Singles, 1 Dong, and 6 steak dinners. One thing not on the score sheet is Puig's gunning down of Joe Panik trying to stretch a single into a double.
Of course Aramis Ramierz couldn't put the tag on quick enough so Panik is safe. Puig saunters slowly back to his position with just a flip of the glove.

Rundown 4/10/2017

Horstman Master's Dominance, Tower continues his Yahoo league excellence, Baseball week 1 wrapup, that and more in this week's rundown. The Masters One could argue Horstman wasn't even paying attention to Season 3 League Of Legends. He shut all that noise down with a convincing Masters Championship foursome netting him 1000 fake internet points and 5 minutes of League of Legend fame. The winning foursome of Hideki Matsuyama, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, and Justin Rose pulled away from the rest of the field. Horstman scored a 100 point bonus for picking Rose who finished 2nd in the tournament. NHL Champion The only legend who showed up for the NHL draft completes his wire to wire run as NHL leader and champion. Tower basks in the glory of another league championship under his belt. Gras' team started hot in day one of the championship matchup netting 19.20 points (not even sure my team ever scored that many points in one day). Gras continued to build a lead headi...

Rundown 6/12/2017 - Jcomp edition

It was a big week across the athletic landscape as several sports and collegiate softball crowned champions. Nadal finished an all-time great run through the French Open, the Penguins won the Stanley Cup, and Lebron ended talk of the Warriors and an undefeated postseason. Meanwhile, Patty took the LOL season lead for all of 36 hours until TJS could finish his 100 hour work week and get back to his computer to “adjust” the scoring. We’re 12 days into the second streak month of the LOL year. I feel a bit like Bob Gibson probably felt in 69 after the whiners got their way and the rules were changed. Luckily enough we’re entering prime Cricket season which, outside of Russian Basketball, is my sweetspot. You guys better get ready for a load of Chris Gayle Hot Takes. Triple Frown We’ve seen six different horses win the six triple crown races since American Pharoah in 2015. While being a borderline sports degenerate is a necessity in the League of Legends, do any of us really care abou...

RunDown 9/5/2017: Almost 3 whole months

Legends its been almost 3 whole months since the last League Of Legends post. Teams are settling in, thejoestory has taken his spot right near the top of the overall standings, Tower has been going on and on about how he wins the leagues, and EvulMonkey has made his annual week 1 NFL lineup change followed by 14 weeks of nothingness. That's right legends fall is around the corner, CFB has kicked off and NFL starts this week. Football season is back. Let's dive into the rundown. Baseball Baseball Playoffs have started leaving some legends to ask...we are playing baseball. Yes legends indeed we are quickly winding down another season of Baseball. Eight teams of champions have made it thus far and are battling for the coveted Baseball league bonus modifiers. If you ask Tower the bonus points are in the bag. TJS Prediction : Hits for K's vs Lime in the Coconut championship showdown for all the points. Hits for K's has defeated the Coconuts twice this season and sho...
