RunDown 9/5/2017: Almost 3 whole months

Legends its been almost 3 whole months since the last League Of Legends post. Teams are settling in, thejoestory has taken his spot right near the top of the overall standings, Tower has been going on and on about how he wins the leagues, and EvulMonkey has made his annual week 1 NFL lineup change followed by 14 weeks of nothingness.

That's right legends fall is around the corner, CFB has kicked off and NFL starts this week. Football season is back. Let's dive into the rundown.

Baseball

Baseball Playoffs have started leaving some legends to ask...we are playing baseball. Yes legends indeed we are quickly winding down another season of Baseball. Eight teams of champions have made it thus far and are battling for the coveted Baseball league bonus modifiers. If you ask Tower the bonus points are in the bag.

TJS Prediction: Hits for K's vs Lime in the Coconut championship showdown for all the points. Hits for K's has defeated the Coconuts twice this season and should make it 3-0 to win the league.

Might I remind you Hits for K's is essentially my team due to the Baseball Draft Bamboozle of 2017 where Kranhold curiously selected each one of my players right before my pick. A practice we now call kranholding. Call it what you want says Kranhold, I call it winning.

Royals Watch

Wow what happened to the Royals in August? Yowzers. They look about as bad as PattyV's MLS team. The Hot Take was OU 76.5 games, with 26 games remaining and only 9 wins needed to hit the over the Royals should get er done. Not a whole lot at stake for legends since every legend voted the Royals would hit the over.

TJS Prediction: 9 wins in 26 games remaining. The Royals should make it to 77 wins easily.

Baylor Football

That loss to Liberty in week 1 for the Baylor Bears was bad. So bad in fact it prompted Legend Tower to suggest a hot take for Total Losses. After looking at the schedule it seemed at least 8 losses remained for the Bears so the OU was set for 7.5. That will be on our legends watch list for the next few weeks.

Baylor is in a must win game against the Road Runners...let that sink in a bit. If they end of up losing to San Antonio this weekend they could almost run the table in losses this year. Fortunately they play the KU Jayhawks so there is at least one chance at a victory.

Of course KU is coming off a marquee win against Southeast Missouri State. If Cape Girardeau can't draw in the power house recruits, I don't know who can. This game was a 1 possession game in the First Quarter somehow...

Anywho we got off course. Baylor looking to somehow eek out a couple wins. If they lose to the Road Runners I think you have to start firing people.

TJS Prediction: Take the over here for sure. If they lose to Road Runners its an Iron Clad Over LOCK.

NFL Draft

Another LOL draft, another draft where thejoestory is projected to win the league, and thus after a few weeks another season of disappointment for thejoestory, champ of the offseason. Again Tower all but claiming he'll win the NFL championship again this year. "The Leagues, make the Leagues worth more points".

The draft was a little different this year with the Keeper system. This 2QB has got to go. League of Legends NFL Draft quote of the night was from jonsorens "It shows Tom Brad is already selected" ...yeah this is a keepers league..."Did I set any keepers" no doesn't look like you did..."Was I supposed to?"...and thus we kicked off season 4 NFL draft.

No big surprises. The Projections look to make both divisions a Dog Fight for first place. 5 Teams projected within a couple losses. However the projections are usually wrong, a lot can happen during a football season: concussions, bone breaks, felony battery charges, DUIs, etc.

TJS Prediction: Too early to predict champion. These 4 teams will make the playoffs: PattyV, Tower, Kranhold, thejoestory.

Rundown 4/10/2017

Horstman Master's Dominance, Tower continues his Yahoo league excellence, Baseball week 1 wrapup, that and more in this week's rundown. The Masters One could argue Horstman wasn't even paying attention to Season 3 League Of Legends. He shut all that noise down with a convincing Masters Championship foursome netting him 1000 fake internet points and 5 minutes of League of Legend fame. The winning foursome of Hideki Matsuyama, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, and Justin Rose pulled away from the rest of the field. Horstman scored a 100 point bonus for picking Rose who finished 2nd in the tournament. NHL Champion The only legend who showed up for the NHL draft completes his wire to wire run as NHL leader and champion. Tower basks in the glory of another league championship under his belt. Gras' team started hot in day one of the championship matchup netting 19.20 points (not even sure my team ever scored that many points in one day). Gras continued to build a lead headi...

Rundown 6/12/2017 - Jcomp edition

It was a big week across the athletic landscape as several sports and collegiate softball crowned champions. Nadal finished an all-time great run through the French Open, the Penguins won the Stanley Cup, and Lebron ended talk of the Warriors and an undefeated postseason. Meanwhile, Patty took the LOL season lead for all of 36 hours until TJS could finish his 100 hour work week and get back to his computer to “adjust” the scoring. We’re 12 days into the second streak month of the LOL year. I feel a bit like Bob Gibson probably felt in 69 after the whiners got their way and the rules were changed. Luckily enough we’re entering prime Cricket season which, outside of Russian Basketball, is my sweetspot. You guys better get ready for a load of Chris Gayle Hot Takes. Triple Frown We’ve seen six different horses win the six triple crown races since American Pharoah in 2015. While being a borderline sports degenerate is a necessity in the League of Legends, do any of us really care abou...
